If you have a reason to celebrate – or even if you don’t – gather a group of at least four friends to arrange a felting party to create an item of your choice, or one group project that you all work on together. Felting Parties are perfect for birthdays, blessingways, bridal showers and family gatherings.
I bring all the materials you need, and show you how to begin. You provide the venue, the atmosphere and a few snacks to keep us going! Warning – you may leave with a new addiction!
I am also an Authorised Civil Celebrant, and can make your special occasion a very memorable one with the addition of an individually written ceremony to mark the occasion.
Group Project
In the Group Project Party everyone helps to decorate on one big gift to give to one person of honour. It may be for a birthday, a baby shower, blessingway or bridal shower – or just because. Some examples of group projects include a felted mat, wall hanging or shawl, which participants then decorate with needle felting. One item only is made (I pre-make it), however the whole group help to decorate it with needle felting for a special celebration, or for the host of the party. This felting party goes for approximately 3 – 4 hours.
Payment for this felting party requires an$80 non-refundable deposit, with the remainder payable on the day of the party. You may choose to divide the cost amongst the participants as a gift to the person receiving the finished felt.
Individual Projects
To make small individual items for each participant, for example a scarf or felted mat or wall hanging, I bring all materials required to your venue. You supply your own snacks and drinks for participants as well as a suitable place for participants to work. This Felting Party requires a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 people, provided there is enough space to work at your venue of choice. Depending on your chosen project, this is approximately a 4 hour activity.
